Scandinavian-Inspired Sterling Silver Embroidered Leather Bracelet

Make a statement with this one-of-a-kind handmade sterling silver bracelet featuring a Scandinavian-inspired design, hand-textured silver, and colorful silk embroidery. The focal piece combines traditional metalsmithing techniques with textile elements, creating a unique piece of wearable art with a distinctly Scandinavian folk-art feel.

The sterling silver focal is fabricated by hand from layered sheet silver and textured with silver dust to create its dimensional surface. It is then finished with hand embroidery using silk thread in a palette of turquoise, light green, and dark green. The combination of textured silver and soft, colorful thread gives this bracelet an unexpected mix of metalsmithing and fiber art.

The finished focal slides onto an incredibly soft cream-colored leather band and is secured with a rivet closure. Multiple adjustment holes allow the bracelet to fit a wide range of wrist sizes, from approximately 5" to 7.5". It is exceptionally comfortable to wear and easy to put on and take off.

One of the special things about this design is its versatility. The sterling silver focal can be removed from the leather band, making it possible to change the band to another color or style in the future. As the leather naturally ages and may stretch slightly with wear, the ability to replace the band means you can continue enjoying the focal piece for years to come.

How it’s made matters:
This bracelet was designed and fabricated by hand by Shannon Bundschuh of Carry a Torch. Each part of the piece has been thoughtfully made and finished in my studio, from the layered and textured sterling silver focal to the hand-stitched silk embroidery and soft leather band.

Care:
Because this bracelet incorporates natural leather and silk thread, it requires a little extra care. Avoid applying oils, lotions, or perfume directly to the bracelet, as these can discolor or affect the leather and silk over time. I recommend putting on perfume and other products before wearing the bracelet and allowing them to dry completely first.

This is a piece made to be worn and enjoyed, but a little extra care will help preserve the beautiful natural materials and hand embroidery.
